Medical equipment worth about US $ 15,000 was donated by Korea’s Daewoo International to the Akyab general hospital yesterday. The equipment is to be set up in a special VIP treatment room at the hospital, said a doctor on condition of anonymity.

Yangon: A total of 215 state-owned enterprises (SOE) out of 288 proposed from 10 ministries were privatized in Myanmar as of January this year since the country began implementation of a plan of privatization in 1995, sources with the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development said on Wednesday.
